Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common queries:

Can I still get my Sprint V analyser calibrated?

Unfortunately not. The Sprint V range is now obsolete, and we can no longer provide calibration or spares. For continued compliance and peace of mind, we recommend upgrading to a Sprint Pro model.

Why do analysers need an annual calibration?

Annual calibration ensures your flue gas analyser (FGA) continues to provide accurate, safe readings. Incorrect readings can lead to unsafe appliance installations, posing risks to both life and property.

Industry bodies and standards, including BS 7967, BS EN 50379, and guidance from HHIC, require FGAs to be in-date when used. The Gas Safe Register expects engineers to demonstrate up-to-date calibration at all times.

Our analysers give a one-month warning before calibration expiry and will automatically prevent use of safety-critical functions if not serviced in time. This policy protects you, your customers, and your Gas Safe status.

Why does my analyser lock out when calibration is expired?

In line with British Standards and HHIC guidance, our Sprint Pro analysers disable key functions once the calibration due date has passed. This prevents the use of out-of-calibration tools, helping to maintain safety and compliance across your work.

The 30-day warning system gives you time to arrange servicing. Keeping your analyser in calibration also ensures that internal sensors remain aligned with the certificate date – reducing early sensor failure and unexpected costs.
